So, I’m not sure if this is something that I’m “supposed” to do… it seems there are more unwritten rules than written when it comes to being a real-life writer. But the best way I know to move forward is transparency and authenticity. And so, I’m going to tell you a tiny bit about the stories I’ve written. Some are shelved for good, some I’m still passionately championing while I continue to write a new story. ENJOY!

Not Even Then, Romantic Comedy by Lauren Lanza Osias

Not Even Then, Manuscript #3

  • Modern Day Romantic Comedy

  • Kat Rossi is great at social media and even better at holding grudges. Kat is trying to let go of ghosts from her past when a decades old grudge becomes her number one client. No one should have to work alongside their childhood bully, even if Benji looks like a fantasy villain–because of course he does. Despite attempting to be professional, Kat and Benji find themselves in a Darcy and Elizabeth-like feud.

In the past, Kat relied on one solid voice of reason, her best friend. In the present, she finds herself catching feelings for Benji, struggling to believe that he’s grown and changed. After a lifetime of pushing people away, if Kat can see beyond Benji's prior mistakes and make peace with her own grief, maybe she'll finally see that people can truly change – including herself.

The Hollow, fantasy, Lauren Lanza Osias

The Hollow, Manuscript #2

  • Adult Fantasy

  • For magical creature bounty hunter Lina Rowan, a rich and dying aunt seems like the solution to all her financial woes–because rich people do very stupid things on their deathbeds. The catch: her aunt’s house borders a kingdom-wide horror story, The Hollow, a murky, dark magic-filled land immortalized in books and songs. The Hollow is described as darkness itself, a story that all children in the Five Kingdoms are told from birth–sometimes just to get them to eat their peas.

But secrets run deep in her family, and after traveling to The Hollow, Lina finds herself embroiled in a mystery that is about far more than inheritance. Luckily, she finds friends in a nearby town who give her a glimpse of the kind of warmth she’s always craved. However, Lina will soon be forced to face her greatest nemesis—her infamous con artist mother—and the choices she’ll have to make will risk the found family that, despite her best efforts, she’s growing to love.

  • Still querying randomly, but feel like this story might need some pretty hefty rewrites.

Before the Dawn, fantasy, Lauren Lanza Osias

Before the Dawn, Manuscript #1

  • New Adult Fantasy

  • In a land where magic has been outlawed, and history erased, Coraline is stuck in a dreary existence, cleaning floors, dusting shelves, and doing her best to avoid the lady of the house. Her escapes are few, but she finds comfort in the adventure of a book, peace in the solitude of the grounds,  and solace in the weight of her sword — at least until a long familiar dream begins to change and haunt her sleep each night.

When Cora’s world is upended, tedium turns to chaos, and she must do what she can to fight for her life. Her journey is plagued with uncertainty, but as she learns to release her fears and self-doubt, Cora discovers a power entirely her own. A power that could save the world.

  • This is my first literary baby. It was a true labor of love and the culmination of many years of work. I will always be grateful for it, but this one will likely stay locked away on my computer.
