Honestly, I can’t put into words how excited I am for this season’s collection. We’ve worked so hard and it’s always a little nerve-wracking when release day comes… hoping people love it as much as we do, praying it does well, etc. Being a small biz owner has taught me so much and, honestly, it’s just a daily humbling experience. It’s no secret I value comfort over just about everything. It’s a relatively new fashion evolution for me, but I’m a big fan. I found Sonnet James through a fellow blogger, Oy Kristen, and I’ve since bought a handful of dresses when my bank account will allow. I’m super sad I couldn’t pony up the cash for one of their new Playsuits. Like they’re pjs you can wear in public, you paying attention now?! I thought so. This brand’s clothing is made to get dirty! We can look cute and chase your monsters around the playground! Best of all, you can toss it right in the washer and hang dry. I can attest that no matter how many times you wash it the fabric looks perfect. It’s magic aka just damn good quality. I’m wearing my fave [older] style with my most favorite neck party courtesy of my Sea & Cake pendants and my trusty diamond letters.

I love jewelry. I love it. I never used to care much one way or another, but in the past 4-5 years I’ve become obsessed with pretty jewels. Way back before I was pregnant with Rocco, I had the delightful Stephanie, of Sea and Cake, make me a custom bar necklace which I added to when I had the boys. I love her classic dainty style and I adore the way all of her pieces can pair together. LAYERING!!!! Insert praise-hands-emoji-here!!! I can’t get enough of these classic, boho necklaces. I love a 15 inch piece paired with a super long 20 inch pendant, but also dig when the chain lengths are nearly the same, like pairing a 16 and 18inch necklace! Both look effortless and oh so cool. Oh and bracelets, let us not forget the bracelets… I want a wrist full of her sweet and dainty bracelets, that’s an arm party I would LOOOOOVVVEEE to be invited to. I don’t even know which piece to spam The Captain with for my Mother’s Day “surprise” gift!

Let’s Get a Move On

Soooooo you’re moving!?! That happens a lot in The Captain’s line of work and I’m finding that so many of my nearest and dearests are currently dealing with moves that are taking them West Coast to East, or vice versa. Packing up the house, the kids, the dogs… it’s stressful enough, packing up your wardrobe shouldn’t add to the headache.

My plan for a non-winter move is simple; basic layering pieces that can all be paired together or separately. They will work for a truck stop outside of Austin, a coffee break in Boulder, or a dinner in the windy city. You can add a piece or 4 to make this suit your particular route. You’ll also need undies and a set of pjs, but that’s about it. Pretty simple folks. You might even find yourself wearing these 15 pieces almost exclusively post-move.

What I’m up to…

So confession, this week blogging has been quite the afterthought… I’m behind on posts and taking my sweet time. We’ve had a sick miniature, taxes, visitors (yay!), and I’ve been busy with a little venture called Rocco + Norah. We are so excited about our Spring line and been working to get it all to you in a few weeks!!! I decided to throw in some sneak peak shots!!! We have added patterned leggings, which like all of our prints are our own designs!! You won’t find them anywhere else!! We’ve also designed our first graphic tee!! We are so excited to see where this next step leads us!!! We will have all the goodies you know and love plus all of our new additions. Say a prayer for us over the next few weeks as we get closer to dropping Spring!!! It’s stupid adorable.

So some days I barely have time to shower, so when I get dressed it’s something that must be documented… and sometimes when I document those days of getting dressed I forget to look at the camera. See above. And then somedays I forget to blog completely, so I pop on my computer and throw together a quick post about an outfit that made me happy. Again, see above. #lazy

Note: The work that the Kula Project does is brilliant and my coffee tree bracelets are ah-mazing!! With the purchase of each bangle a farmer is able to plant a coffee tree in Rwanda that will provide their family with income for 30 years. Magic.
